“The only responsibility someone could take is that you’ve put yourself in a potentially vulnerable position. In the same way that if you’re walking down the street with your mobile phone out, you’ve put yourself in a potentially vulnerable position for somebody to take it. Just because you’re in a position where you could be taken advantage of doesn’t mean that you should be. It’s not your fault if someone comes and nicks your phone. It’s not your fault if you’re walking through a bad neighbourhood and you get mugged. So why is it your fault if you’ve trusted a person because of the situation you’re in? To then be taken advantage of, it’s not your fault. I think it’s just people trying to justify the fact that maybe they’ve had that malicious thought at one point.”
